Drinksafe is a safe and easy method for filtering and disinfecting water using ultraviolet light and AFP tubing - eliminating the need for potentially harmful chemical disinfectants such as chlorine.

'Drinksafe' is a portable disinfection unit for use where regular small quantities of disinfected water are needed. It is ideal for the home for safe water for drinking and cooking. It is also useful for small laboratory and pharmaceutical applications.

The result of laboratory testing are listed below: 

• All wetted parts are AFP tubes and ABS, eliminating corrosion.
• A safety switch turns off the power to the lamp prior to opening the unit.
• A front indicator light provides visual observation of lamp operation.
• LED indicators show wait, ready and replace lamp status.
• Automatic shut down after three hours if the unit hasn't been used.
• When starting up the unit automatically waits for 45 seconds to enable the UV lamp to reach full strength.
• For an extra charge, the drinksafe can be fitted with optional 0.5 micron carbon briquette filter to remove Giardia and Cryptosporidium cysts.
